What gets me through the day...

Just wanted to share this with you. I was recently filling out an application to take some Women's Ministry courses through Northshore Baptist Church. Several ladies from Bear Creek Community Church, where we attend, are taking advantage of this great seminary training opportunity. At the end they ask you to give a brief description of your faith journey, and it occurred to me that I'd like to share this with you all as well!

I came to believe in Jesus early, at age 7, and then dedicated my life to following Him in High School. About 7 years ago my family life and marriage became very difficult and I had to turn to the Lord for strength. He has been drawing me to Him and growing my faith through difficult trials and suffering over these past few years. Yet I have never experienced God's provision and personal grace and mercy as great before. I have never so desperately had to be on my knees before Him or had the privilege of receiving His Living Word spoken directly to my heart, quite in as breathtaking a way as He has done for me during these times. I have learned my life is not my own. It is not about my happiness or comfort. It is about following Him; it is about God receiving the glory. This is a very liberating lesson for someone who has been consumed with pursuing her own happiness for most of her life! Glory to God!
Psalm 119:30
I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws. 31 I hold fast to your statutes, O Lord; do not let me be put to shame. 32 I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.

100 Days!

It has been 100 days of school so far. And now it is midwinter break, so that means, I get a break too! Hope you have all been able to stay healthy. We have made it through a bad cold/flu over here, but are all getting better. Even the sun peeked through the clouds a few times today.

I found a fun artist-inspired shop in Mill Creek. It's called "Musings" and they sell art and fine craft from local artists. Looking for an opportunity to sell my paintings there, if it works out. Also, will be starting to serve on the worship team at our church. Starting tomorrow. Wow....God moves fast sometimes! Some things have been so long in waiting...the circumstances seem to be halted or get worse. Definitely not better. Then when you least expect it, God will decide it's time for something to happen in a different area of your life and boom...there you are, moving in a new direction through His open door. Thank you Lord!
